Nycil was launched in India in 1951 by British Drug Houses (BDH) India as a medicated powder for treating skin ailments like prickly heat and fungal infection

1968

Nycil became part of Glaxo Laboratories (India) limited after BDH group was incorporated into the Glaxo group, bringing Nycil under Glaxo’s ownership

1970

Nycil gained reputation as an expert anti-bacterial and anti-fungal powder under Glaxo’s leadership. During this period, brand established itself strongly as an iconic prickly heat and irritation protection talc

1980

Nycil became a household name during this time. Brand introduces new fragrances like Nycil Sandal to appeal to Indian consumers’ preference for traditional, pleasant aromas.

1995

H.J. Heinz acquired Nycil from Glaxo India, along with other brands. This made Nycil part of the Heinz portfolio, which later merged with Kraft Foods Group to become Kraft Heinz in 2013.

2005

In-line with the massive shift in Indian consumer landscape in the early 2000s, Nycil introduced it’s first cooling innovation in talcum powders with the launch of Nycil Cool Herbal.

2018
